Each year from 2014 to 2018, 60 inspirational young people are selected to receive an Award and become ‘Queen’s Young Leaders’ – one for every year that The Queen had served as Head of the Commonwealth at the time of her Diamond Jubilee. The aspiration is for at least one young person from every Commonwealth country to receive a Queen’s Young Leaders Award for achievement in transforming their own lives and the lives of others.
Become a Mentor
The Queen’s Young Leaders Mentoring programme is recruiting new volunteer mentors to help young leaders develop their social, environmental and cultural projects. Mentoring takes place between June and December each year.

The Programme will further strengthen the skills and confidence of Award winners so that they continue to change the lives of those around them and inspire the next generation of young leaders through their own actions and values.
2015 WinnersThe first Queen’s Young Leaders travelled from across the Commonwealth to take part in a residential development programme as part of the Award package. The programme included a two-day course at the University of Cambridge where they continued the on-line training they had been undertaking since January. The Young Leaders then went on to meet with UK business leaders and to visit life-changing social action projects. Participants in The Queen's Young Leaders Programme also received their awards from The Queen at Buckingham Palace.
Applications commence in June 2016 to become a Queen’s Young Leader 2017
